What POPIA is

The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) is South African legislation that sets rules for how organisations collect, use, share and protect personal information. As a healthcare practice, we also handle special personal information — health data — which POPIA protects with extra care.

How Amani complies

• We only collect the information we need to give you safe, effective care or to respond to your enquiry.
• We explain what we collect and why in our Privacy Policy.
• Access to your records is limited to the people involved in your care and the administration of the practice.
• We keep clinical records for the period required by law and the HPCSA, and no longer than necessary for other information.
• We do not sell personal information, and only share it as described in our Privacy Policy.
